Q & A
Did Ibn Taymiyyah accept the spiritual states and stations of the heart?
Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah, in his book Al-Tuhfah al-'Iraqiyyah fi 'l-'Amal al-Qalbiyyah, explains the true stations and spiritual states of the heart:
"These are a few words explaining the states of the heart, which are defined as stations and spiritual states. They are from among the fundamentals and foundations of faith and religion, for example the love of Allah and His Prophet ﷺ, trust in Allah, sincerity, gratitude, patience, fear and hope in Allah. The imams have agreed that all of these actions are incumbent upon the entire creation."
