Can a heart with ailments, or with anything other than Allah in it, come to know Him?

Purification of the Heart

The cognizance of Allah cannot be achieved in a heart which has the ailments, neither can it be achieved with the ghair in it. The ghair, or the other, is anything and everything except for Allah.

Tasawwuf is complete submission to Allah. In the spiritual heart that submission lies in the cognizance of Allah, and in the physical body it lies in the acts of obedience in accordance with the Shariah.

For the physical body, complete submission demands having the right Aqida, or creed, and following the law of Islamic Jurisprudence. If there is an error in Aqida, then no matter how many good deeds one performs, Allah's cognizance and pleasure cannot be attained.
