Q & A
What are the conditions for a deed to be accepted by Allah?
The criterion for a deed to be accepted on the Day of Judgement has three conditions:
- The deed must be among the actions that Allah declared as good deeds,
- The deed must be performed according to the method outlined by the Shariah, the Islamic Jurisprudence, and
- The deed must be done purely for Allah.
The third condition, that it be purely for Allah, is the concept which deals with the inner aspect of the deed. That aspect has to be practised, and Tasawwuf is the practice of those disciplines.
The details of faith and action combined with the pure state of the heart have been explicitly shown to us by the Prophet ﷺ, through his own life, as an example.
