Is the purpose of the path of Suluk to see lights and visions?

The mere objective of the path of Suluk is acquiring the state of ihsan, and its purpose is not to view unseen images, forms, lights or colours, as these are all useless entertainment.

The tangible forms, the unseen forms and the lights are all created. They are signs bearing witness to Allah's existence.

The spiritual exercises prescribed by the Sufis have been devised for the ailments of the heart, just as doctors prescribe medication for physical ailments.
