* Is Sufism haram or forbidden in Islam?
No. Authentic Tasawwuf is not forbidden, it is the inner dimension of Islam itself, the science of sincerity and the state of the heart that the Shariah itself commands. What is forbidden is any false “Sufism” that sets itself against the Shariah.
The worry usually comes from seeing fake Sufis who claim that a pure heart excuses them from the law. Such Tasawwuf, set against the Shariah, is irreligious and rejected, and whoever claims a path to Allah outside the Shariah is a liar. That kind is indeed to be avoided.
But real Tasawwuf is the opposite. It is excellence (Ihsan) in following the Qur'an and the Sunnah, aimed at the very states of the heart the Shariah orders: sincerity, fear of Allah, and love of the Prophet ﷺ. Far from being forbidden, it is what gives the outward acts of worship their soul.

نہیں۔ حقیقی تصوف ممنوع نہیں، یہ تو خود اسلام کا باطنی پہلو ہے، اخلاص کا علم اور دل کی وہ کیفیت جس کا حکم خود شریعت دیتی ہے۔ ممنوع تو ہر وہ جھوٹا “تصوف” ہے جو خود کو شریعت کے مقابل کھڑا کر لے۔
یہ اندیشہ عموماً اُن جعلی صوفیوں کو دیکھ کر پیدا ہوتا ہے جو دعویٰ کرتے ہیں کہ پاک دل اُنہیں شریعت سے مستثنیٰ کر دیتا ہے۔ ایسا تصوف، جو شریعت کے مقابل کھڑا ہو، بے دین اور مردود ہے، اور جو شریعت سے باہر اللہ تک کسی راستے کا دعویٰ کرے وہ جھوٹا ہے۔ ایسا تصوف واقعی قابلِ اجتناب ہے۔
مگر حقیقی تصوف اِس کے برعکس ہے۔ یہ قرآن و سنت کی پیروی میں احسان ہے، جس کا رخ دل کی اُنہی کیفیات کی طرف ہے جن کا حکم شریعت دیتی ہے: اخلاص، خوفِ خدا، اور نبی ﷺ کی محبت۔ ممنوع ہونا تو دور کی بات، یہی وہ چیز ہے جو ظاہری عبادات میں روح ڈالتی ہے۔
